Health Psychologists Hannah and Alyssa are available in the practice to work with patients with long term physical health conditions and to support people to make relevant lifestyle changes for them (e.g. healthy eating, stopping smoking, increasing activity levels, reducing alcohol consumption). Alyssa and Hannah are trained to help support and motivate people to make changes for their health whether it be related to a health condition or to help improve quality of life. Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
The Forfar team provide a pre-conception, antenatal and post-natal service. Patients will be appointed and seen by the Midwife at Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre.
A team of Community Nurses, based in Lour Road Group Practice, look after housebound patients with close communication with the Practice team.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
